Last days in school

Soon it is summer break 🙂

To prepare for next year I have prepared revision exercises for you. They can be found in Edmodo, in the folder ”Preparation for IB”. There are two different – one if you will take Studies SL and one for SL.

But do not forget to rest and enjoy your summer break 🙂

Wednesday June 1

Today it is time for everyone to start the IB course – Mathematics SL, Mathematical Studies SL or Mathematics HL.

For SL: Binomial expansion.

For Studies SL: Currency conversions.

Find what to work on in Edmodo.

HL: Continue where you are in your preparation.

Tuesday 17

Today you will get back your test tests. Feed forward is sent to you in Edmodo.

Help each, in groups of three, to sort out what you need to practice more on.

Homework for Tuesday 17

Do your own revision. We are aiming for the National test.

Do either:

(If you do not need to revise for the NT, you work on Binomial expansion or Currency conversions, folders in Edmodo.)

Knowledge requirements:

  • Prime numbers and divisibility
  • Operations in fractions and with negative numbers
  • Operations using exponent rules
  • Algebra: Substitution, equations, formula, factorizing…
  • Inequalities
  • Graphical method of solving equations.
  • Lines of symmetry
  • Pythagoras Theorem
  • Percentage changing factor (leads to exponential functions)
  • Functions: Notation, concepts, domain, range, table of value…
  • The difference between expression, function and equation.

If you need to revise probability, watch the video and/or read in the booklet:

Friday 13

Solve problems in real life situations. Think, pair, share.

Pair a real life situation with the correct function. Task in Edmodo.

Thursday 12

  • Continue on your test test
  • Revise old National Test 1b in Edmodo.
  • Do Binomial expansion, if SL next year. Do Currency Conversions, if Studies next year. Folders in Edmodo.

Test test Wednesday 11

Revision exercises in Edmodo.

Included in the test test:

  • Probability
  • Statistics
  • Functions
  • Lines of symmetry
  • And maybe one where you use any (optional) method of solving simultaneous equations.

If you need to focus on some of the revision exercises you do:

1-5, 8-9, 11-12, 14-15, 18-19b, 23-30
